1st step on China's soil

First impression of China... COLD!! It was 3 degrees celcius upon arrival, and everyone was enjoying "breathing out smoke" from their mouth. "Look! Look! I'm smokin'..." some exclaimed. Errr... actually the teachers are also some of the culprits. hee heee.... :)

This is our tour guide. Looks familiar? "Er Gu"... ring a bell? YES! She's "Er Gu", popularised by drama "KOPI-O" and "ZHI MA LU DOU"! Wah... so we have a Celebrity Tour Guide! Well, I must say she SURE is motherly and caring, always looking into the welfare of the children, teachers and parents. KUDOS TO ER GU!
On our way to Jiangsu, Nanjing Sports Institute, we stopped by a "XIAO LONG BAO" shop for breakfast. To top it up, we also ate "JIAQING Dumplings". It was so delicious that the kids and parents emptied their plates in no time. The weather's real cold, thus the kids were enjoying and savouring every bit of the tasty dumpling, especially the tasty soup oozing out from the XIAO LONG BAO. Yummy!!

Arrival @ Nanjing Sports Institute

Finally! After a 4-hr bus ride from the airport, we arrive at the renowned Nanjing Sports Institute. As we turn in from the boulevard, we are all in awe of the majestic buildings and training centres of different sports. This piece of land where the institute stand is also of great historical significance. This is the very place where Dr Sun Yat Sen based his camp during the revolution, opening up a new era in China's history. WOO HOO!

Everyone arrived safely at our hotel, named "HUI CUI LOU". After unpacking our bags, we gathered at the hotel cafeteria for lunch. PHEW! It is sumptous. A ten-course lunch comprising rice, fish, chicken, broccoli, soup, pork, beef, etc. Hmm... hope we won't grow fat after a week of training... hahhahaha...

Wanna find out more about the institute? KEEP COMING BACK TO OUR BLOG YA! We'll keep you updated as much as we can... its a little difficult to find internet.. :(

Bustle @ Terminal 3...

Terminal 3:
Singapore's newest addition to the Changi family.
I wonder what it looks like inside.. can't wait to get in!

See... I told you about the LONG QUEUE! haha... but it's still a good experience for the kids. They learn to check-in their own personal luggages, tag it and also take care of their own passports and air tickets.. PHEW! what a handful...

NANJING! HERE WE COME!!

Departure!

"Passports! Passports!"... Terminal 3, Row 5... The long-awaited moment has finally arrived - NYPS Badminton 1st Oversea Training Programme to Nanjing, China. As families and well-wishers arrive, the kids started to buzz with great excitement. "Kids! Check your passports! Make sure you don't leave anything behind!" Everything went on well... though the check-in took quite a while before we managed to send in all luggages. We took a group photo @ Terminal 3, then it was time to say goodbye... *sob sob*...
